Guyana’s Aliann Pompey secured a bronze medal in the finals of the women’s 400 metres today at the XIX Commonwealth Games held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi, Indian.
It was Guyana’s first medal of the games. Pompey was the defending champion.
Pompey clocked in a season’s best time of 51.65s behind Nigerian Folashade Abugan who registered a time of 51.39s, also a season’s best.
Botswana’s Amantle Montsho ran her way to a gold medal with a time of 50.10s, a game record.
