Hours after Acting Chief Justice Ian Chang called on the police to show cause why several detained men who were reportedly being questioning about murders should not be released, police released six of them on $100,000 station bail each.
Those released are businessmen Bramanand Nandalall Rambrichie, Salim Juman Azeez and Clayton Hutson; Dennis Edwards Jnr and ex-policemen Ricardo Rodrigues and Lloyd Roberts.
The release of the men occurred around 6 pm and according to one of the lawyers representing some of them “they look tired and sweaty but they are relieved to be out”.
The six men spent a night in custody and were grilled by investigators about the three recent high voltage shootings at Cummings Lodge, Charlestown and Campbellville.
The eight men are among thirteen who were wanted by police for questioning into the murders. Wanted bulletins were issued last Thursday and Friday.
