Former President’s College student Teshana James (second from left) was on Wednesday accepted to the bar. Her petition was presented before Acting Chief Justice Ian Chang (left) by attorney-at-law Kim Kyte-John (centre). The new lawyer obtained her LL.B in 2008 before going on to the Hugh Wooding Law School, where she graduated with a Certificate in Legal Education.
While at the Hugh Wooding Law School she excelled academically capturing the Justice Jessel Hannays Memorial Prize for the (Best Performance in Remedies 2008-2009), the Chairman’s Prize (Evidence and Forensic Medicine, Law of Remedies and Civil Practice and Procedure II0 2009-2010, and the Government of Guyana Prize (Best Performance by a Guyanese student) 2009-2010 which she shared with another student.
