Former West Indies fast bowlers Colin Stuart and Reon King are among five Guyanese attending the West Indies Cricket Board Umpires and Match Referees workshops which began Monday in Jamaica.
The other Guyanese are experienced umpire Clyde Duncan, Guyana Cricket Board’s High performance Analyst Robin Singh and Umpire Nigel Duguid.
According to a release from the WICB’s Corporate Communications Officer Imran Khan, the aim of the workshops is to enable the WICB to continue “to focus on equipping officials involved in the game with the necessary skills to enhance their performances and the overall standard of West Indies cricket.”
ICC Umpires and Referees Manager Vince Van Der Bijl along with John Holder, the ICC Regional Umpires Performance Manager (for Europe and the West Indies) made presentations to the 13 umpires and 13 match referees on Monday.
ICC Elite Umpire Billy Doctrove and ICC Match Referee Adrian Griffith are teaming up with Van Der Bijl, Holder and Bucknor in leading the workshops.
The three day sessions will end today with a presentation by Steve Bucknor.
