Following his dominance in the 200m finals on Thursday, Carl Lewis came back on Friday to take the boys under-20 100m final on Day Two of the track events of the East Georgetown District Champion of Ch
ampions meet at GCC ground, Bourda.
Having won his 100m heats on Thursday, Lewis gave another powerful display running out of lane one to seize the 100m final.
Ebony Nelson won the female 100m while CARIFTA Games gold medalist, Jevina Straker, also strutted her stuff as she copped wins in the 1,500m and 800m events in the girls under-18 category.
Xavier Mann produced wins in the 800m and 1500m boys’ category.
Also snatching double wins for the day was Mawava Maison, who distinguished herself in the girls’ under-16 category with wins in the 100m and 200m events. Other 100m and 200m takes were registered by girls’ under-18 competitor Melissa McAllister, and girls’ under-14 contender Latisha David.
For the boys Shawn Hughes, in the under-14 category, won the 200m and 400m races. However, girls’ under-16 participant Adama Roberts came short of recording a double win when she was left in second place behind Shadiqua Shabazz in the 800m, following her win in the 3,000m.
