A policeman was early yesterday morning stabbed and robbed by two bandits.
One of the bandits was armed with a gun and the other with an ice pick. A release from the police said that at around 00:25 hrs policeman Rajaram Persaud was walking along Station Street, Grove, East Bank Demerara when the robbers pounced on him. He resisted and was stabbed in the left hand. He was relieved of a cellular phone and documents.
Prompt action by the policeman’s colleagues saw one of the suspects being arrested.
