Tapir driver in Skeldon vendor road death held

Police have arrested the driver who allegedly struck down and killed Skeldon Market vendor Rudolph February on Sunday night.

The driver of the “Tapir” registered as 86117, had fled the scene where February, 48, a father of three of Lot 190 Kingston, Corriverton reportedly died on the spot.

February’s wife told this newspaper that he had arrived at their church around 7.45 pm to collect her on his motorcycle when he realised he had forgotten her helmet. He was returning for the helmet when he was struck down a few feet away from her.

Reports are that the man rode out of a street and while entering the Corriverton Public Road was hit by the vehicle. His relatives had told this newspaper on Sunday night that he was a regular visitor to the church in the area.
