Preparations are going apace for next weekend’s Inter-Corporation Dominoes tournament with Ansa McAl Trading providing sponsorship for the event.
The tournament organized by Next Level Dominoes Club is billed October 29 and 30 at the National Gymnasium .
Over 36 teams are expected to take part in the two-day affair which starts at 18:00 on the opening day and 12:00 on October 30. President of the Club and Tournament organizer Lyall Gittens disclosed that the most recent teams to sign up include Ministry of Works, Guyana Revenue Authority, Guyana Teachers Union, Courtney Benn Construction, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Public Service Union, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Home Affairs.
He disclosed that the Media will be competing as a team and will be competing against several dominoes heavyweights including Sterling Products, Banks DIH, Bank of Guyana, Republic Bank, Caricom and Ansa McAl Trading.
The winning team will take home a first prize of $80,000 and the Banks DIH Trophy, the runner up will secure $50,000 and the Ansa McAl Trading Trophy, third place will cart off $30,000 and a Trophy while fourth place will receive $10,000 and a Trophy.
There will also be incentive prizes for the Most Valuable player, first double love and the players sharing first love in the finals.
Closing date for entries will be tomarrow. Meanwhile, Ansa McAl Marketing Assistant John Maikoo who presented Gittens with the second place trophy recently said Stag Beer has always supported Gittens dominoes events. Gittens thanked the company for it support.
