A 33-year-old man was yesterday admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after he was stabbed five times about the body reportedly by his father-in-law.
Sherwin Grant, of Norton Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, was rushed to the medical institution at about 3:50pm, a GPH release said.
When this newspaper visited the hospital shortly after 5pm, the man was still receiving medical attention at the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit. He was later admitted to the Male Surgical Ward, where he remained in a stable condition up to late last night.
The injured man’s mother, who spoke with this newspaper at the hospital, said that she was not yet aware of the details surrounding his wounding. Several efforts made to contact the woman last evening for further details were futile.
However, Stabroek News was reliably informed that the man’s father-in-law was taken into police custody and is assisting with investigations.
