Promoters of the upcoming All-Star Basketball Weekend received a significant boost from Giftland Office Max when they were presented with a number of trophies, basketballs and basketball nets at the company’s location on Water Street on Friday.
Giftland’s Marketing Manager Compton Babb made the presentation of eight trophies, six basketballs and two basketball nets to the All-Star Weekend’s Event Coordinators, Vijay Panday and Warren Williams.

“This event is much bigger than the years before and I’m glad that they have invited the AND 1 basketball team to be a part of this development of basketball in Guyana. I’m hoping that this event will be successful and they can continue to develop the sport in Guyana the way their doing it now,” Babb said.
Panday acknowledged Giftland’s contributions to the event and assured that the company will get adequate mileage since the event will attract a lot of basketball fans and will be widely publicized.
“I want to thank Giftland for being on board once again and we do intend to make their sponsorship get as much mileage as possible for the business and to take basketball to a next stage,” said Panday.
The event tips off on November 12 with the senior slam dunk contest, senior three-point shootout and Georgetown versus Linden Junior All Star game. Saturday’s events will include the Junior Slam Dunk contest, Junior three-point shootout and Georgetown versus Linden Senior All Star game.
