A man accused by the police of having a gun in his possession without being the holder of a firearm licence was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
The allegation against Errol King is that on August 22, at Aranka Backdam, Essequibo, he had in his possession a 12-guage shotgun without licence.
King entered a not guilty plea to the charge of possession of firearm without licence when it was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecution made a request that the accused be remanded to prison. This request was granted and the case was later transferred to the Bartica Magistrates’ Court for November 24.
