The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) in collaboration with Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) will open a Youth Football Coaching Course at the Carifesta Sports Complex, Carifesta Avenue, tomorrow at 09:00 hours.
The course will run until November 7 and will be conducted by FIFA Technical Instructor Marcos Falopa, who arrived in the country over the weekend, according to a GFF press release. The release also stated that this will be one of several training programmes and seminars that the GFF will be hosting in “tandem with FIFA” for the year. The course will also have a component that deals with the marketing of the WIN IN CONCACAF WITH CONCACAF programme which commenced in Guyana during 2009. The objective of that programme is to stimulate further growth and development of all aspects of football in Guyana. According to information coming out of the GFF, it is expected that approximately 30 participants who were nominated by the various football associations affiliated to the local governing body, and from clubs in the National Super League, will be in attendance.
The participants will also be exposed to other topical issues that include training of young players and goalkeeper coaching, as well as other technical and tactical aspects of the game.
The programme will be declared open by Alfred King, Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
