Transport Sports Club’s (TSC) off-spinner Kevin Ross bagged eight more wickets against the Police Sports Club on Sunday at the Eve Leary ground in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Carib Beer Heroes Cup two-day first division cricket tournament which ended in a draw.
Ross ended with match figures of 14-168 after he took 6-49 in the first innings.
Police, who score 105 in their first innings, reached 247-9 declared in their second innings with wicketkeeper Rawle Browne scoring 141, the sixth century of that round.
Brown got support from Shameer Fazal and Cecil Adams who made 25 and 21 respectively.
TSC, set 253 to win, after being bundled out for 99 in the first innings, reached 141-7 at the close of play.
Marc Nicholson (47), Carl Rambarose (21) and Kadir Manjoor (20) were the principal scorers.
Off-spinner Jason Heyliger took 3-49 while Pernell London supported with 3-24.
Over at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda, Everest and the Georgetown Cricket Club played to a draw.
Everest began the final day 42-0, replying to the home side’s 393-3 declared and aided by a double century opening partnership between former West Indies opening batsman, Ryan Ramdass and wicketkeeper/batsman Joseph Perry reached 316 -4 in their first innings.
Ramdass scored 147 while Perry finished undefeated on 113.
GCC’s captain Leon Johnson took 2-52 from 24 overs while left arm spinner Raj Nanan had 2-84 from 42 overs.
On Saturday centuries from Ramnaresh Sarwan, Ricardo Jadunauth and Vishaul Singh had paced GCC to their huge total.
Sarwan, who was left out of the West Indies team for the tour to Sri Lanka, scored 105 while Jadanauth and Singh scored 131 not out and 109 respectively.
