King’s Jewellery establishment became the latest entity to hop on board for the inaugural Western Tigers organized Super Eight Knockout Tournament.
The company yesterday handed over a cheque worth 100,000 to the club yesterday at their Quamina Street location.
Ralph Persaud, son of the Managing Director, Looknauth Persaud, made the donation to treasurer of club Andre Dazzel who thanked the company for coming on board.
Dazell said that the gesture will go a long way for the club and the youths in the community.
Persaud, said the company’s family hails from Alexander Village, where the club is situated and stated that they were quite pleased to give back to the community and especially to football and the players.
“We are hopeful we can get the chance to support the community again in the future since we are no strangers to the area,”
Also present were Western Tigers president and Attorney-at-Law Gordon Gilhuys and club secretary Dexter Cush.
The top eight teams will commence battle on November 24 for supremacy and the top prize of $500,000.
