The Georgetown Public Hospital today said that it is looking for a man who escaped police custody on its premises and hid himself in the ceiling of the Accident and Emergency Unit.
The hospital in a release said that on the eve of November 2 “it was reported to the Chief Public Safety Officer of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation that a male of East Indian descent, about 22 years of age and name given as Mohamed Ali was arrested for an alleged simple larceny (and) was brought to the Accident and Emergency Unit. Ali escaped custody and ventured into the ceiling of the A&E Unit.
“Searches were made and Officers were placed at strategic points in the hospital, but to no avail. The most recent search was conducted at approximately 15:00h (today) but the individual was still not found.
