Popeyes Restaurant yesterday became the latest business entity to join forces with the Kashif and Shanghai Organization in the staging of the annual football extravaganza.
A cheque worth $300,000 was yesterday handed over by Popeyes Shift Manager, Paul Babb to Director of the promoting organization, Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major for the staging of the 21st edition of the tournament.
“Popeyes is pleased to be associated with the Kashif and Shanghai Tournament and we are hoping that in the future we will be able to make a much larger donation than we are doing now,” Babb said.
Major in brief remarks, said his organization was very thankful for the company’s support of the tournament which is expected to get underway on December 13 at the Guyana National Stadium.
“When Popeyes approached us and said they wanted to come onboard for the Kashif and Shanghai Tournament, we were very glad,” Major said at a press conference yesterday.
“We usually only have Church’s Chicken onboard but I think the stadium will have enough fans to give both entities adequate sales,” he added.
