Gavin Lewis defeated Kijana Lewis 6 – 3, 6 – 0 in a men’s singles match Thursday night as the Pegasus Open tournament continued at the hotel’s courts.
And, in the men’s doubles match, Ezra Sue-Ho and Andy Gouveia defeated Saevion and Seanden David-Longe 6 – 2, 6 – 2.
On Saturday, Krystal Sukra and Nicola Ramdyhan scored wins as the junior girls’ 18 years and under category commenced.
Ramdyhan defeated Aruna Ramrattan 7 – 5, 6 – 4 while Sukra defeated Aretta Dey 6-4, 6-2.
Following the match Sukra admitted that she was surprised by the competition that she got from Dey.
“She put up a good fight, and got in a lot more games than I would have expected.” Sukra said.
In the girls’ 14-years-and-under category, Dey defeated Kristie Lopes 6 – 0, 6 – 3.
In other results, Judah Stephney defeated Darius Ali, 6 – 1, 6 – 3 while siblings Khalid and Khalif Gobin received walkovers from Mikhail Ameerally and Jevon Henry respectively. In the boys’ 18-years-and-under category, Stephney and Brian Ramsud received walkovers from Mikhail and Isaac Ameerally respectively.
In other scheduled boys 18 matches Saturday, Jason Glasgow defeated Jonathan Fagundes 6 – 2, 6 – 2; Rajesh Ramrattan lost 6-1,4-6, 3-7 to Benedict Sukra, and Glasgow defeated Ramsud 6 – 0, 6 – 4.
