The health and education ministries collaborated with Colgate Palmolive and the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) hosted a road march and motorcade on Saturday to launch oral health month.
The march started at 7.30 hours from the Mon Repos RDC road and ended at the market tarmac, a press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) said. Dental hygiene supplies were distributed to attendees. This year’s observances are being held under the theme ‘Our Children, Our Future: promoting a bright and healthy smile for life.’
Minister within the Ministry of Health Dr Bheri Ramsaran joined residents of Mon Repos, representatives from partnering agencies, NGOs and children from various schools in chanting choruses on caring teeth. In his address to the gathering the minister spoke of the team of dentex officers from the Cheddi Jagan Dental School who provided free dental care for the people in the area and in particular school children.
