Berbice television cameraman/reporter Michael Khan is facing seven counts of assault along with a charge of damage to property committed on his reputed wife Shaline Samaroo.
The thirty-year-old TV newsman of Nurseville, New Amsterdam, denied the charges when he appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo in the New Amsterdam Court yesterday and he was placed on $20,000 bail.
The Channel Eight employee is alleged to have committed the assaults, one of which caused actual bodily harm on the complainant whom he lived with for a year.
The offences allegedly took place between September 6 and November 3 last at the home which the couple shared with Khan’s two children from a previous relationship.
The defendant was represented by attorney-at-Law Michael Baird. The case is fixed for hearing on February 14.
