Deoram Dinanauth turned back a strong field to win the R. Bassoo and Sons Medal Play tournament on Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Course.
The win solidifies Dinanauth’s position as one of the top contenders for the Guyana Open which is expected to start in two weeks time. This is Dinanauth’s second victory in four weeks. He also won the MACORP tournament last month.
Dinanauth shot a remarkable 62 net from a gross 83 playing off a 21 handicap beating into second position Carlos Adams who recorded a net 66 from a gross 94 playing off a 28 handicap.
Third place and nearest to the pin prizes went to Colin Ming (handicap 13) who shot a net 67 from gross 80.
Managing Director of Roy Bassoo said he was impressed with the way the tournament was organized and promised to sponsor a much larger one next year.
He thanked the Lusignan Golf Club for giving his company the opportunity to partner with them to promote and develop golf locally. LGC Captain Patrick Prashad thanked Roy Bassoo and his company for sponsoring the tournament and extended a warm welcome to General Manager Anthony Ramotar and Construction Manager Tafzul Haniff who attended and assisted in the presentation of prizes.
