Competitions Coordinator within the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Colin Europe disclosed yesterday that the second round Inter County match between Demerara and the Rest Team will not be played until tomorrow at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground.
The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Senior Four-day game between the two teams was called off after Europe inspected the DCC ground and concluded that too much water was on the ground for play today. Europe told Stabroek Sport yesterday that the game will now commence tomorrow and run until Monday.
He noted, though, that if the rainy weather persists then the two teams will share the points. Currently Demerara stand atop of the points table with 12 points after an outright victory over Essequibo in two days; five-time defending champions Berbice after their draw with the Rest Team are on six and Essequibo are in the cellar without a point.
The other match between Berbice and Essequibo will go on at the Blairmont Community Centre ground.
