Chief Executive Officer of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation, Ramesh Ghir, was recently accredited International Airport Professional (IAP) and Aviation Security Professional (Avsec PM) after having successfully completed the Aviation Management Professional Accreditation Program (AMPAP).
A release from the corporation said that AMPAP and Avsec PM were jointly put together by the Airport Council International (ACI); International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) and the John Molson School of Business.
It said that for airport management professionals, the International Airport Professional (IAP) designation is the global standard of excellence while the Aviation Security Professional Management Course (PMC) is one of the most advanced aviation security training program approved by ICAO.
Ghir, it said, completed the three-year program in nine months and was nominated Class Valedictorian of the 48 graduating students in 2010. The valedictorian speech was delivered to over 500 airport leaders from 71 countries that assembled at the ACI World General Assembly Meeting in Bermuda earlier this month.
The CEO pledged his continued commitment to improving the airport facilities and services and was thankful to the staff, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications and the Government of Guyana for their support, the release said.
