The three boxers absconded to the United States of America on their way back from the Commonwealth Games in India last month.
President of GABA, Steve Ninvalle, yesterday also said the association in the near future will be writing to International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) and the Regional bodies to inform them of this development.
He also pointed out that the GABA has made amendments to chapter 37 of its constitution.
This amendment now gives the GABA manoeuvrability to institute such a ban for extremely serious infractions.
Further, the clubs under the umbrella body also voted in favour of the life ban.
The members of the committee are Ninvalle, Treasurer Dexter Patterson, Vice President Eustace Cuffy and Competitions Coordinator Keith Campbell.
Ninvalle told Stabroek Sport that the punishment fits the crime and it was a serious infraction by the boxers, who would have been part of the GABA’s plan for the 2012 Olympics.
The boxers were all part of the boxing team that attended the Commonwealth Games, and the boxers, were in transit to Guyana at the JFK Airport with some 18 other members of the Guyanese contingent when they disappeared.
Rock was a former junior Commonwealth silver medallist in the lightweight division, Jordon was the 2010 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games bronze medallist in the flyweight division and Boatswain was the national middleweight amateur champion at the time when they absconded.
