The company yesterday handed over of the second, third and fourth place trophies to the organizers in a simple ceremony at their Camp and Hadfield Street’s location.
Manager of Keishar’s Gift Shoppe, Shiv Nandalall handed over the trophies.
“On behalf of Keishar’s Gift Shoppe, I wish to express my appreciation to the executives of BK Western Tigers who have afforded us the opportunity to be associated with this tournament that is being played for the first time,” Nandalall said.
“We believe that sports is a vehicle that can be used to unite people and with that in mind, I hope that this tournament brings out the best in not only the players, but the executives from the various clubs involved, to wish I take this opportunity to wish them all the best of luck,” he added.
Receiving the trophies on behalf of the club was its President, Gordon Gilhuys, who thanked the sponsor for their willingness to come on board with the tournament.
The top eight Georgetown teams will compete for the first prize of $500,000 and a trophy from Wednesday at the Georgetown Football Club Ground (GFC).
Day one will see Riddim Squad opposing Sunburst Camptown from 6pm then national club champions Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United will challenge Santos in what can be termed a replay of the Namilco Football Festival match which is set to be played tonight.
