Dear Editor,
The Railway Embankment road had signs such as Success, Felicity, Montrose, Vryheid’s Lust, etc. Some time ago, a pick-up came and carried the signs away. About three months later, the signs were returned and re-erected, and I observed that the advertisements on the signs had been changed. Some time last year, the signs were again carried away, so I thought that they had been taken away to be changed. It is now over a year and they have not been returned.
The signs were a good guide to tell the conductors in the minibuses where to stop to let passengers off, or for you to know where you are when travelling. I usually would tell my friends in Georgetown to stop off by so and so sign. Now for a long time there has been no sign to guide you.
Editor, could you find out where these signs have gone and when they would be returned and be re-erected.
Yours faithfully,
J Kadaru
