Pleading with President Jagdeo, to “save” our alluvial gold and diamond miners.

r Excellency, President Jagdeo, on behalf of the many thousands of our Alluvial Gold & Diamond Miners, we plead with you to stop any implementation of all the “draconian” mining regulations, some of which were introduced in the past, and many more “IMPOSSIBLE TO MINE CONDITIONS, which the SLUC has sent to you previously, and a set of similar additional conditions, which they are about to send to you now.

Mr. President, If you allow these “IMPOSSIBLE TO MINE CONDITIONS to be implemented, it will gradually take its TOLL on all of our alluvial Miners, and close all ALLUVIAL Mining operations, in under two years, leaving only Hard Rock Mining Operations, mainly done by Foreign Mining Companies to continue Mining in Guyana.

If those “IMPOSSIBLE TO MINE CONDITIONS are implemented, then the entire alluvial Mining in Guyana, will, as night follows day, be totally shut down, and the outcome is going to be a CATASTROPHE.

There is going to BE A MASSIVE POVERTY ESCALATION, AN UNFORTUNATE INCREASE IN SOCIAL DEGRADATION by especially the women inhabitants of the Interior Villages, while there will be A TREMENDOUS INCREASE IN CRIME, which will take over our entire Towns and Villages, and which will be impossible to control, necessitating a more than doubling of the numbers in the Police Force, in an effort to try to contain it.

Guyana will see an exodus of its population, like you have never seen before.

4% ACCUMULATIVE ACREAGE EXEMPTION

Your Excellency, we also plead with you TO ALLOW the 4% ACCUMULATIVE Acreage Exemption, which our alluvial miners are seeking from you, for over a year now.

This TINY 4% is equal to 1.6 Million acres, and will take our Alluvial Miners, 160 Years to work it out, while every 5 years, the re-growth will cause the forest canopy to be completely covered in the worked out areas.

The Accumulative YEARLY worked acreage area of less than 10,000 acres, is a YEARLY. TINY 0.0256 % of the entire Forest area of 40 Million Acres, and cannot in any way whatsoever, affect the success of your LCDS or any other Programme.

You cannot allow any Foreign Country to dictate to YOU/GUYANA, what Mining Conditions, you must implement, or else it would mean that they are taking control of GUYANA’S SOVEREIGNTY, more so of that our forest and mining areas of Guyana.

Your Excellency, after reading this, you cannot say, we did not tell you, what will happen, if you allow the IMPOSSIBLE TO MINE CONDITIONS to be implemented.

Yours faithfully,

T Adams, T Junor, R Khan, P Pereira, T Singh.
