Winners of this year`s Mackeson Sweet 16 football tournament, BK International Western Tigers, yesterday received their prizes in the conference room of Ansa Mc Al Limited.
Also receiving their prizes were the other top teams and individual performers.
BK International Western Tigers received the top prize of $400,000 and the Mackeson Sweet 16 Trophy while Gavin Wilson of the same team, was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
The event which was organized by Bakewell Buxton Stars saw Wilson and teammate Nedd Fraser sharing the highest goal scorer award after they each scored four goals.
However, Wilson was awarded the MVP and the organizers awarded Fraser the most goals prize.
They each received two cases of Mackeson Stout compliments of Ansa Mc Al Limited while the runner up team, Fruta Conquerors, received $200,000 and a trophy.
Santos and BV/Triumph United collected $100,000 and $75,000 respectively for their third and fourth place finish.
Western Tigers defeated Georgetown Football Club 4-1 with Wilson scoring a hat trick. They then humiliated Linden’s Winners Connection 5-0 and got past Santos and Fruta Conquerors in the semi-final and final on penalty kicks.
