SEOUL, (Reuters) – Pyongyang has rejected a proposal by the U.S.-led UN Command in South Korea for general officer-level talks to ease tension on the peninsula and exchange information following Tuesday’s artillery exchanges, U.S. officials said.
“North Korea appears to have rejected the proposal on the ground that there’s nothing much it could gain from the talks,” Yonhap news agency earlier quoted a Seoul government official as saying.
Officials at the U.S. Forces Korea confirmed the report.
