Dear Editor,
It was heartening to read in the Sunday Stabroek of November 21 that GECOM will be able to facilitate the holding of the next general election on or after August 12, 2011. This I hope will alleviate most of the chatter and noise making the rounds in the public domain that GECOM would not be able to meet a 2011 date of readiness.
I encourage all to get registered and come out and take part in one of the most important components of a democratic society.
