Contrary to what was reported in yesterday’s edition of the Stabroek News, Marvin Hutson was not sentenced to six months in prison, but rather one month. This newspaper apologises for the inaccurate report.
Hutson appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday last to answer an unlawful assault charge on his wife, Tracy Hutson.
The allegation is that on November 23 at Georgetown, the defendant unlawfully assaulted Tracy Hutson. He had initially pleaded guilty to the offence. After listening to his explanation however, the magistrate entered a not guilty plea for him.
