The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Guyana Teachers Union (GTU) on Wednesday began assessing the level of success attained at this year’s National Schools Championships held two weeks ago.
According to the MoE Head of the Physical Education Department, Nicholas Fraser, the review is ongoing and at the end a report will be submitted by the management committee of the event.
This committee is headed by Fraser along with GTU Sports Secretary, Coleen Liddell.
And while the review is still ongoing, Fraser said in his personal opinion he feels that the championships were good, in spite of the drawbacks that occurred.
“I would say that the championships were good, of course there were some areas we have to improve but everyone worked hard. And there will be a full report from the management committee headed by myself and Coleen Liddell,” Fraser said.
When contacted GTU President Colin Bynoe stated that he did not wish to make a comment before a full review on the championships had been completed.
