The series of literary evenings at the National Gallery will continue on Tuesday with An Evening of Literature, Part X11, at 5 pm at Castellani House, Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, and the public is cordially invited.
The evening’s readings will be related to the theme of Janus, the God of Doorways, Beginnings and Endings, Transitions and Time, after whom the month of January was named, and reflecting the period of the ending of the year and the start of another, a release stated.
Excerpts of prose, poetry and song will be presented by performers, including Russell Lancaster, Vanda Radzik, Konya Addo, Grace Chapman, Abigail Brower, Kencil Banwarie, Kandasia Kendall, and David and Marilyn Dewar, among others. Coordinator of the programme is Petamber Persaud.
The series of programmes was started in 2004 by the National Gallery to promote an enjoyment and appreciation of the best in literature, from both Guyana and around the world.
