“You are very fortunate. I know you have been waiting a long time for this opportunity”, Region Three Chairman, Julius Faerber told the residents gathered at the Uitvlugt Community Centre Ground. He said that when the persons receive their house lots, it is expected that within a given timeframe, they will built their homes.
Emile McGarrell, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, noted that it is the ninth ‘One Stop Shop’ for 2010 and by the end of this year; the goal is to achieve the allocation of 5500 house lots. He noted that it is the fourth such activity in Region Three. Officials of the Central Planning and Housing Authority also gave an overview of the process.
The ‘Core Homes’ project was also highlighted with McGarrell noting that a core house costs $1.2M but the government subsidizes the cost and those eligible and selected will only have to pay $100 000 for the basic home.
