A labourer received the maximum sentence of six months in jail for inflicting grievous bodily harm on his wife when he appeared at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Rohan Ramkissoon, 48, of No. 69 Village, Corentyne, Berbice pleaded guilty to the summary charge. Before his sentence was handed down, he begged for leniency from Magistrate Krishndat Persaud saying that he would apologise to his wife who was in court.
