An armed robbery charge amounting to $1.4M against Tyrone Rowe called ‘Cobra’ was withdrawn and he was jointly charged with two other men.
Among a slew of charges, Rowe was accused of robbing Troy Collins of $1.4M in items. He was charged alone for the offence in November. The charge was however withdrawn and a joint charge reinstituted.
Yesterday when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, the joint charge was read to him. He was the only defendant present. The allegation is that on March 1 in Georgetown, being armed with a gun, Rowe, Anand Lalchand and Dwayne Critchlow robbed Troy Collins of a quantity of gold and other items to the tune of $1.4M.
Rowe, 17, a labourer of 268 Independence Boulevard, Albouystown was the only one present at court. The court was told by prosecutor, Lionel Harvey that the absent defendants are still at large. According to Harvey, the absent men have pending matters in Court Three and Five as well. The matter was adjourned to December 20 and transferred to Court Five.
Rowe is arraigned on charges of murder, two counts of armed robbery and damage to property and is imprisoned awaiting trial.
