The inaugural Ricks & Sari Agro Indus-tries Under-13 Cricket competition continued in Ber-bice recently with Blairmont Commu-nity Centre defeating Rosignol United by an innings and 176 runs at Blair-mont.
With his club batting first, Blairmont Community Cen-tre’s Parmanand Ramdhan turned in an outstanding all-round performance as he slammed 120 runs, inclusive of 10 fours to steer his club to reach 254 all out in their first inning.
Rosignol took to the crease for their first innings in response and were quickly bowled out for 63. Blairmont’s off spinner Mohan Deodat took 5 for 18 from 9 overs and Ramdhan coming back with the ball and bowling left arm spin took 4 for 22 from 15 overs.
Following on 191 runs behind on first innings, Rosignol United fared much worse in their second innings, being bowled out for 13, the lowest score in the competition so far.
Doing the damage for Blairmont was Ramdhan with 6 for 7 from 6 overs to end with match bowling figures of 10 for 29 from 21 overs. Akeem Miller took 4 for 6 from 5 overs.
Meanwhile, over at Lovely Lass, pacer Grisean Grant of Achievers of West Berbice also registered a 10-wicket match haul in his club’s 10-wicket win over No. 7.
Batting first No. 7 was dismissed for a 52 in their first innings, while Achievers had a first innings total of 76.
No. 7 posted a marginally higher total in their second innings as they ended with 54 runs on the board, but they were quickly beaten by Achievers, who knocked off their with 31 without loss in their second innings.
