Dear Editor,
With much satisfaction, I read the article ‘Sex felon doc fired’ in your edition of Wednesday, December 1. It is a sign of great maturity that the Minister of Health Dr Leslie Ramsammy can apologise to this nation. I wish to commend him for doing so.
On the other hand, in the same edition, I read a letter by Dr Madan Rambaran captioned ‘We should seek to keep the discourse on Dr Vishwamintra Persaud intelligent and civilized’ with much dismay. I was dismayed because Dr Rambaran seems unapologetic for what has happened.
Nowhere in his letter does he offer this nation an apology. Dr Rambaran should say he is sorry. He was wrong! Even doctors are allowed to be wrong, even when they are made administrators.
Yours faithfully,
MS Hussain
