Sonia Noel believes that the Guyana Fashion Market which was recently launched at the Pegasus Hotel has the potential to advance the growth of the fashion industry here and also impact on job creation in the industry.
Referring to the market as a “new beginning”, Sonia said it offers an opportunity to raise the quality of life for many Guyanese and carve foot prints,” as unique works of art beyond the Caribbean”.
The market was success, Sonia said in a press release this week, noting that the strength of the Guyana Fashion Market (GFM) as a strategic channel of distribution for the fashion fraternity became evident with the number of sales and orders for that were recorded.
The market showcased clothing, jewellery, footwear and bags from over 20 Guyanese designers including Christopher Goodridge, Paul Burnett, Olympia Small-Sonaram, Marcia De Santos, Zarina Hamid-Pile, Juliana Hughes, Natisha Johns and Sonia Noel.
The event is scheduled for once a month at the Pegasus Hotel and to add value, Sonia Noel has teamed with TUVIA Music Production to bring another level of live entertainment to patrons.
TUVIA Music Studio, which is powered by Corporate Advocates Inc, a management consultancy firm, will add their piece of music intrigue to enhance the ambience of the market, which is set for the last Sunday of every month at the Pegasus Hotel.
“Sonia Noel recognizes the overwhelming support that she continues to receive from the Guyanese Diaspora, which cuts across all ethnic groups; she also recognizes the media and government officials who continue to support her projects and wishes to thank all of her supporters for their loyalty”, the press release said.
Sonia has described the market as a project all Guyanese should be proud of. She said that it represents new fashion trends; life-style changes; new innovations and international respectability.
