Christmas Food Fair billed for Lethem December 11

The Food Fair is intended to encourage and promote the use of techniques and skills that help to preserve locally available fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy products, a release stated.

In this way the communities ought to see a reduction in wastage, improved quality, product innovation and positive attitudes to nutrition.

Individuals and groups from all parts of the Rupununi are expected to put on display and sale a wide range of products from dairy products, juices, dried and crystallized fruits to fruit leathers, fruit cheeses, jams, marmalade and jellies as well as achar, pepper sauce, farine, cassava bread and cured and dried meats.

Meanwhile, the organisers said persons and organisations are cordially invited to participate and donate towards the event to make it even more special.
