PNCR Chairman Cammie Ramsaroop had been identified as the party’s representative to deliver a tribute at Tuesday’s interment ceremony for former chairman Winston Murray after a request was made, the committee that arranged the funeral said.
The Protocol Committee, in a press release sent yesterday, rejected a statement issued by the party on Friday which said that neither Ramsaroop nor any party officer had been asked to deliver a tribute at the Leguan interment ceremony. The committee said it “regrets that certain members of the PNCR saw it fit to issue such a statement so soon after the recent interment of our beloved, respected and trusted colleague: it is regretted because it is both inaccurate and misleading.”
