A 21-year-old man who stabbed a fisherman to death two Saturdays ago following a row over money during a game of pools, has been charged with murder.
Anthony Jaisingh of Sarah Johanna, East Bank Demerara was not required to plead to the capital offence when he appeared in the Providence Magistrate’s Court last Monday. He was later remanded to prison until December 13.
It is alleged that Jaisingh murdered Randy Joseph on November 27.
According to police reports, Joseph and another man were imbibing at a bar in Sara Johanna when an argument developed during which he was stabbed.
The wounded man was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The alleged attacker fled the scene but was later found hiding in his house which is located a short distance away.
