Hello,
I am looking for my father and or his family.
My birth name is Herbert (Bertie) Llewellyn Job, named after my maternal grandfather who was a soldier in the Guyanese (British) Army. My mother’s maiden name was Lillian Maude Clarke, My father’s name I believe is Edward Grant (I do not know if he had a middle name). His mother’s last name I am told was Butts and she lived in Ruimveldt.
He was a Guyanese Police Officer and I believe he was stationed in Ruimveldt and Georgetown, I was told he married a Sergeant’s daughter. I am unsure when he joined the force or how long he served. I do know that he was a Police Officer when I first met and saw him at the tender age of 4 or 5 years old and that was in 1959 or 1960 approximately 5 years before I was brought to Canada by my mother. The family name on my mother’s side of the family was Job. I would greatly appreciate any help you may offer me in helping to find my father and or his family.
