The Ministry of Public Works has extended the deadline for bids for the installation of street lights on the Essequibo and Berbice coasts until December 14.
The bids had been scheduled to be opened on December 7, according to a notice in the press. Bids are invited for the installation of street lights along the Corentyne Highway from Tain to Bloomfield; on the Essequibo Coast Public Road from Three Friends to Anna Regina; and on the West Coast Berbice Public Road from Number 12 to Cotton Tree.
The government is funding the projects, the notice stated.
A set of bidding documents could be purchased for a non-reimbursable cash fee of $5,000 from the Works Ministry in Kingston and each bid must be accompanied by a bid security of one $1M. Bidders registered in Guyana must also submit valid Certificates of Compliance from the GRA and NIS with their bids.
Bids must be deposited in the Tender Box at the office of the Chairman, National Procurement and Tender Administration Board, Ministry of Finance on or before 9 am on December 14.
The notice added that bids will be opened at a public ceremony in the presence of bidders or their representatives at 9 am that day.
