Dear Editor,
Last week I attended a lecture hosted by the University of Guyana Social Studies Department regarding UNASUR and South American integration, historically, politically and economically, etc, and was much satisfied to listen to and mull over in my own mind the pros and cons of a variety of interesting and educative lectures from the panel of distinguished presenters.
As I was driving home I thought to myself as ominous dark rain clouds lingered threateningly on the horizon to flood the East Coast again, and the mighty Atlantic pounded thunderously on the sea wall, if ever the day would come, right here in our dear Guyana, when such lectures, panel discussions, debates and meetings would be held to ponder and promote the pros and cons of universal integration of the nations of the world.
To many people it seems that mankind in the past, and of recent times through trial and error, has successfully navigated and managed tribal and national integration, and so the next logical step for us, it seems to me, would be international or universal integration.
Of course, I have met and read of many people in the world who accept the fact that the earth is one country and mankind its citizens.
Yours faithfully,
Rooplall Dudhnath
