Just after midnight today a Plaisance squatting area man wanted by police escaped after firing shots at ranks.
The police said that members of a Joint Services mobile patrol encountered Gary DeFlorimonte called ‘Sadam’ of Plaisance Squatting area, ECD, who is wanted by the police for questioning in relation to a number of robberies on the East Coast of Demerara. He was among a group of men gaming at Plaisance Squatting area.
The police said that as they approached, DeFlorimonte began to run and was pursued by the ranks during which he discharged several rounds at the ranks who returned fire. He however managed to escape.
