Dear Editor,
I have noticed that many people are either very reluctant or neglectful in saying a simple ‘thank you’.
We are usually very quick to condemn or criticize and very slow in offering praise or congratulations and it is a fact that people are quite likely to believe more easily the criticisms because praise is not forthcoming. It is with the preceding view that I write to say ‘thank you and congratulations’ to the police in Berbice for the job they have been doing and continue to do.
Many of us have found room to shower blame and justifiably so sometimes but does it mean that the police in Berbice have not done anything good because we have not said so? I would like to suggest that more people come forward to let them know that we appreciate what they are doing.
I certainly do and I would like to add that from what I see in Georgetown we in Berbice are certainly lucky to have the type of policing that we do here.
Commander Merai of ‘B’ division and traffic chief Adonis, thank you and may this festive season be a most joyous one for you, your ranks and all Guyanese.
Yours faithfully,
Charrandass Persaud
