Dale Hing emerged as the top gun at last Sunday’s Spads Incorporated yearend small-bore shooting championships held at the Timehri ranges.
Hing, who recorded 487 points, edged out last year’s winner Dr. Johann DaSilva who secured the second position with 484 while David Dharry came in third with 474 points.
The championship consisted of four stages where the participants used their 9mm and .22 pistols.
The highest aggregate of the four stages determined the champion.
During the championship, many shooters interchanged positions on the podium at each stage and it was left to the final stage for the eventual winner to be determined.
Last year’s champion Dr. Johan DaSilva did not gave up his title easily as he was determined to retain it, but Hing eventually held his nerve and was subsequently crowned the new champion. After the championship there was a speed shoot which saw Hing placing first with David Dharry second and Murtland Smith, third.
At the conclusion a representative from Spads Inc. expressed delight in once more collaborating with the Guyana NRA to sponsor the tournament and said the company was looking forward to assisting the association in the future.
The Guyana NRA also extended its appreciation to Spads Inc. for sponsoring the championship which brought the curtains down on its 2010 programme.
