The St. Rose’s High School recently received a quantity of sports equipment from Giftland Office Max which is expected to boost the school’s Physical Education programme.
The donation was made by the company which has established a reputation for generosity by numerous donations to various entities.
The school, which is one of two secondary schools in Georgetown offering Physical Education at the CSEC level and which recorded a pass rate of 100% in 2010, will use the donation to complement its Physical Education and Sports Programme inclusive of Grades seven to 11.
Physical Education and Sports Teacher, Miss Agnes Swammy, acknowledged that while the school had a few pieces of equipment, it still welcomed the timely donation by Giftland Office Max, particularly for the CXC students. Students Samuel Glasgow and Ulanda John echoed the sentiments of their teacher.
Glasgow gave thanks to the company for the gear “so that we could enjoy Physical Education”.
Compton Babb, Marketing Representative of Giftland Office Max spoke of his company’s pleasure in giving back to a noble learning institution such as St. Rose’s High while reaffirming his company’s willingness to contribute to worthy causes.
