Dear Editor,
The Commissioner of Police, the Traffic Chief, and the traffic officers did a marvellous job in relation to the UNASUR summit. Things went smoothly, and the interruptions were minimal and organized, so citizens did not face much inconvenience, and did not have cause to grumble. At the same time, they provided the security corridor that is necessary when heads of state and high officials visit Guyana.
When something goes wrong with the police, we are quick to attack and criticize them, but we must also applaud and encourage them when they do well. The entire traffic and security apparatus established during the summit was well coordinated like an orchestra, and that brought great success.
Congratulations to the Commissioner and the Minister of Home Affairs.
Yours faithfully,
Roshan Khan
