TORONTO, Canada, CMC – Ashish Bagai has returned to lead a Canada 15-man squad announced for next month’s Caribbean Twenty20 Championship in Antigua and Barbados.
The 28-year-old, one of Canada’s most experienced players, missed this year’s inaugural CT20 with a knee injury.
He will lead a side that includes seven players from the failed campaign in July when Canada lost two of their three games, with the other one abandoned due to rain.
Seamer Khurram Chohan, who missed this year’s tournament with injury, also makes a return while Henry Osinde, who replaced him in July, maintains his place in the squad.
Rizwan Cheema, who led the side in Bagai’s absence for the inaugural CT20, also remains in the squad.
Canada will launch their training camp here on Boxing Day before leaving for the Caribbean on January 5.
They will use the January 10-23 tournament as a warm-up for the 2011 Cricket World Cup in Asia which bowls off in February in Asia.
